ISTARI is a place in the Australian bush for the freedom and sanctuary of all native animals and plants. Land for Wildlife.
Koalas visit here regularly. We can hear them often at night but they are very hard to spot in the trees.
Goannas are smart animals and will make every effort to find a way into the chicken coop if they can. Did you know that goannas can jump, a bit like a dog. Watch and see.
Koalas are beautiful animals. We have them as regular visitors to Istari however they are endangered due to the loss of habitat, disease and car strike.
Males will pursue the females, sometimes to the annoyance of the female. Koalas will call through the forest looking for a mate. We have not heard this sound from a koala before.
